BigSpot.Com uses sponsorship to reach out to adolescents in need
ASHBURN, Va., Jan. 28 -- In an effort to shape a better community for tomorrow, BigSpot.com, a leading marketing services provider, will extend a helping hand to some of the biggest stakeholders today – underprivileged kids. The Offerwise company recently announced its official sponsorship of Lifting As We Climb Foundation, Inc. (LAWCF).
Serving as an online recruitment source for market research firms, BigSpot.com chose to back LAWCF for its work with low-income, high-risk children and teens. Specifically, the foundation focuses on educational improvement, leadership skills, personal health, community activism, career development and physical fitness.
After experiencing tremendous growth in 2009, BigSpot.com committed to use its momentum as a sparkplug for igniting generous causes. LAWCF's initiative to inspire and empower disadvantaged youth immediately attracted the Web-based company.
"We have enjoyed success over the last year and decided to make it a priority for our 2010 objectives to partner with charitable organizations that give back to their local communities," said Andrew Lissak, CEO and president of Offerwise. "The Lifting As We Climb Foundation was a natural fit, given their presence nationally and in our local Washington DC Metro community."
With the sponsorship from BigSpot.com helping steer the way, LAWCF looks to spread its assistance to more struggling regions around the country. In fact, the nonprofit plans to use the newly-garnered support in the months ahead to build out one of its key undertakings.
"We are rapidly growing our Sound Mind, Sound Body Football Academy nationally, expanding the program to Miami and San Francisco this year, with several other cities in our plan for the near future," said Siraaj Hasan, president and co-founder of LAWCF.
Using athletics as a driving force to improved self confidence, the football academy aims to boost test scores, high school graduation rates and prepare participants for adulthood.
"With the support of sponsors like BigSpot.com with a national presence, we will be able to achieve the expansion of our services to underprivileged communities across the entire country," said Hasan regarding the academy and other LAWCF programs. "Given the nature of today's economy, it is refreshing to have such a willing and generous sponsor that believes in our program and its impact on the community"
Established in 2004, LAWCF largely consists of aspiring business professionals at the helm – most of them under the age of 30. The group's young staff helps mold its reputation as a "youth to youth" mentoring organization. As for those individuals who pass through the foundation's doors for guidance, they typically are between 12 and 18 years old.
When BigSpot.com took notice of this dynamic relationship – young people helping one another aim for new heights – they quickly jumped aboard the movement.
